SOCRATIC PROJECT: XI Truth and Tolerance in the age of Trump

How can we be tolerant of intolerance?  How can we become intolerant while trying to be right?  Sometimes being “right” is not the goal.  What if we are wrong and the people we do not like, are?  What are the most strategic ways to address the major political issues of our day namely,#metoo, Faith, Gun Control, Black Lives Matter, Immigration, and the Economy?

Join us April 10th 6pm-8pm.

The Debate will be in the Bruce Cherry Theater, Olive-Harvey College: 10001 S Woodlawn Ave, Chicago, IL 60628

This will be a robust DEBATE/DIALOGUE from two leading authors and scholars

Dr. Eric WallacTruthTolerance_Postcards.jpe (MA, ThM, Ph.D.) Wallace was a candidate for U.S. Representative in the 2nd Congressional district sand is editor of Freedom’s Journal Magazine and Freedom’s Journal Institute for the Study of Faith & Public Policy.  He has authored two books: Integrity of Faith, and Jesus on Trial.

Professor Ted Williams III (BA, MPP) Chair of the Social Science Department at Kennedy-King College, He is former host of PBS-WYCC television’s The Professors and author of The Way Out: Christianity, Politics, and the Future of the African American Community. He is co-founder of The Way Christian Ministries.

The Socratic Project seeks to cultivate and provoke critical, philosophical and innovative thinking among the students.

The topics covered in workshops/seminars/debates will address questions of ultimate human concern–as we hope to do in this one too.
