People need stories to make sense of life. Sometimes these stories are true, and other times they are fabrications or caricatures of reality. The people of old used myths and spiritual folktales for entertainment, and these evolved into narratives to give coherence to the world they inhabited. Fyodor Dostoevsky said it best, “At first, art imitates life. Then life will imitate art. Then life will find its very existence from the arts.” Today these myths are told in many forms, and the most popular is that of superheroes such as Superman, the X-Men, and Spiderman, Black Panther to name a few. How do these modern myths make sense of our world?  How do they point to a greater reality?

This webinar will address the effect that the mythology of superheroes has on our current Western Culture.  The secular world does not want or need God in their lives, or at least that is what they think, but they do enjoy a good story. Come and learn effective ways to engage this secular culture using the modern mythos of superheroes.
